Christians and the Environment Alexandra Gales Liberty University Online Christians and the Environment â€Å"For this is what the Lord says, he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited† (Isaiah 45:18 NIV). Meaning that our earthly habitat is not unexpected, it is worth more than anything in this world. â€Å"For by him all things were created: things in heaven and or earth, visible and invisible, weather thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together† (Colossians 1:16-17 NIV). We learn in Genesis that when God created the world he took his time proclaiming it as good. This good creation was rich and different,†¦show more content†¦God tell us to care for our bodies, so also we can praise God by the care we give to our environment. In Papua New Guinea the church group got together of 15 people and wrote a book on Christians caring for the environment. In New Guinea there focus was the future of their kids, grand children, and great-grandchildren. Also the change in our personal lifestyle practices can help. For example, smoking which we are polluting the earth. The homes we buy, why do we need all the technology in the world in our house. Another way Christians we can preserve our environment is by using alternate methods of transportation. For example, in Tokyo most people do not even own cars they ride bikes to the train station to utilize resourceful means to get to work. The way gas prices keep going out we are going to have to rely on public transportation which is better for the environment now than driving vehicles. I am glad that now we have Hybrid cars to help with the pollution. Many religions have different insight on how to preserve the environment. For example In India, they practice Hindu which means (â€Å"the external essence of life†). They believe that it is clear their God which is known as Vishnu is part of everything. The environment is a place with people with consciousness such as land, plants, animals, and people in which all are connected.
